I was proud to be part of the team that recruited Boeing, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and the other major companies to South Carolina. But it’s not enough. Our region is ground zero for digital and high-tech companies who need allies in state government to create a level playing field so that they can create good, high-paying jobs for residents. And we must look out for our small businesses just as much, if not more, than we do the giant businesses.

 

I believe we should keep taxes low and always exercise fiscal discipline with taxpayer dollars. I will continue to build on my strong fiscal record that has helped balance seventeen budgets, cut income & sales, and property taxes & spending, while still making critical investments in schools, jobs, worker training and key infrastructure like the Port of Charleston, roads & bridges. My commitment to the people of District 119 has always been and will always be to spend their hard earned money frugally and with a focus on the future.
