Stavrinakis Receives 100% Pro-Business Voting Record from SC Chamber and Endorsement from Conservation Voters on Same Day
August 30, 2016
On Tuesday, August 30th, Leon Stavrinakis received a perfect score on the annual South Carolina Chamber of Commerce scorecard as well as the endorsement from the Conservation Voters of South Carolina.
Each legislative session, the Chamber tracks roll call votes on key business issues and tallies them to determine an overall score for each member of the General Assembly. This year the Chamber tracked key votes on infrastructure, workforce development, military retirement benefits, and aid for our farmers following October’s historic flood among other issues.
Representative Stavrinakis has also developed a strong environmental record and has consistently fought for legislation that promotes renewable energy and conservation in South Carolina. Today the Conservation Voters of South Carolina endorsed Stavrinakis as their candidate of choice for the 2016 election cycle.
"I am honored to receive perfect legislative scores and endorsements from both the state's top conservation group as well as from the state's largest business organization," said Stavrinakis. "Throughout my time in public service I have worked hard to prove that creating jobs and protecting our environment are not mutually exclusive. I have always believed we can do both by putting politics aside and working with each other on common sense solutions for our community. If the people of District 119 are willing to place their trust in me again, I pledge to honor that trust by continuing my common sense approach to getting results for Charleston."
